kcd Kunststoffe, Additive und Beratung GmbH is an owner-managed family business and has been developing and producing additives and compounds for the plastics processing industry for over 25 years.

In addition to our standard additive products and compounds, which can be found in the product overview, we also produce customised formulations for special customer requirements. Contract manufacturing with formulations specified by the customer and raw materials provided by the customer is also possible.

Company history

In 1998, a rented part of a hall, a handful of employees and a single laboratory extruder formed the basis for what kcd GmbH is today.
Continuous further development of processes, products and structures turned an initially daring endeavour into a successful, professional family business.

In January 2024, we employed 30 people and achieved an annual production and delivery volume of around 1,000 tons. Direct exports to EU countries such as Austria, France, Benelux and Poland account for around 35 % of turnover. Direct export customers also include countries such as China, India, Israel and Turkey. In addition, around 20 % of sales are channelled through trading partners. In addition to the German domestic market, these supply customers in England, North Africa and the USA.

Sophisticated

kcd GmbH always endeavours to deliver the best possible quality and to ensure this on a permanent basis. This includes the careful selection of raw materials and supply sources and the permanent inspection of incoming and outgoing goods.

Our laboratory facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment, which is used for the development, identification and quality control of all raw materials used and products manufactured. In addition to thermochemically reacting propellant components and numerous other active ingredients, these include various polymers as well as inorganic and expandable fillers. Our laboratory staff are able to determine the melting and decomposition temperatures of polymers and additives for plastics and to check the gas yield of our chemical blowing agent products and the degree of expansion of the microspheres masterbatches. All test equipment is subject to regular external monitoring and calibration to ensure the highest quality standards.

Quality management certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 is in preparation.
